In Memoriam

Founder of Lake Tahoe Massage Therapy, Nancy Blachly had been a licensed massage therapist since 1984, with a Nevada State Massage License and City of South Lake Tahoe Massage permit. She died in Jan 2011 doing what she loved, skiing. One of the early pioneers and first licensed massage therapist in South Lake Tahoe, she instituted and taught massage therapy at the Lake Tahoe Community Collage in addition to her private practice with clients from all walks of life. As a way of sharing her knowledge and experience with others, she formed An Association of Massage Therapists in 1997. She is truly missed.

Kathi Cross earned a Commercial Art Degree from Orange Coast College and received her certification training at Diamond Light School of Massage in 1998. After additional training in Magnetic Healing from Esclepion Healing Center in San Rafael and becoming a Certified Amanae Emotional Release Practitioner, Kathi joined our group in 2000.
Amanae is an emotional release body work technique which opens "doorways" that have been closed by deeply held fear, anger and trauma. Amanae assists in bypassing our mind and ego, dramatically clearing the way to physical and spiritual health and wholeness.
Kathi also practices Jin Shin Jyutsu as well as Bio Genesis and loves using her skills to help others “be in their body,” relax, and allow their body to heal as they feel more like themselves again. Kathi is licensed to practice massage therapy in South Lake Tahoe, CA.

Tiffany Mallin trained at the Sun Coast Center for Natural Health School of Massage Therapy in Tampa, Florida where she earned certification in Massage Therapy and Hydrotherapy in 1991. Her further training has been in Sports Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Aromatherapy, and Aron Mattes Stretching, and her specialty is Deep Tissue Sports Massage. Tiffany also offers a wonderful facial massage with Dermalogic products to cleanse, exfoliate, and tone. She also incorpoates specialized facial massage techniques rejuvenate, increase firmness, and Hot Stone Therapy. A stone massage uses stones to massage the body. Heated smooth, flat stones are placed on key points on the body. The massage therapist may also hold the stones and use them to massage certain areas of the body. The hardness of the stones allows the therapist to address specific problem areas with more detailed work or deeper pressure. The heat from the stones will relax muscles, increase the blood flow to the area being worked on which further accelerates the healing process. This increase in circulation and the relaxation of the muscles also aids in mental relaxation. The use of hot stones for healing dates back to ancient times, but the use of hot stones for massage caught on when Arizona massage therapist Mary Nelson introduced her hot stone massage technique, called LaStone Therapy.
Tiffany owned her own massage company in Stowe, VT for 15 years before joining our group. Tiffany is licensed to practice massage therapy in South Lake Tahoe, CA.

Ken Cross After completing a Business Administration degree at Cal State University, Ken attended the Berkeley Psychic Institute, completing their training program in psychic and spiritual healing. The Berkeley Psychic Institute explains that psychic healing is a spiritual hello from one spirit to another. A body becomes disturbed or diseased when there is no communication with spirit. A healing heals the spirit so the spirit can heal the body. Furthering his passion for healing work, Ken graduated from the Diamond Light School of Massage and Healing in 1998 with additional training in Jin Shin Jyutsu, a powerful alternative health practice that can help one find and maintain balance in their physical and mental well-being, and Amanae, a hands-on emotional release bodywork technique which opens "doorways" that have been closed by deeply held fear, anger and trauma. Amanae is a journey that takes us back to remembrance and direct experience of the self. Ken has dedicated his life to being of service, helping people to become healthy, happy, and whole. Ken is licensed to practice massage therapy in South Lake Tahoe, CA.
