SKELETAL system

The skeletal system is our framework and support system. The human skeleton consists of 206 bones. Bones are hard on the outside. Inside is the marrow, which is porous. The marrow is where red blood cells are manufactured and minerals are stored. Check this out on your chicken bone.

Where bones meet, joints are formed. Movement takes place at the joints. Muscles attach to the bones and make movement possible. The range of movement possible is determined largely by the muscles. The more fully muscles can relax and contract, the greater the range of movement in the joints.

During massage, muscles release congestion and relax, as mentioned above. This allows for more complete joint movement.
